MoodDiary treats your privacy as the first requirement. Moods and diary entries are about as sensitive as data gets, so everything stays on your device and is never uploaded to our servers. We carry no analytics SDK and talk to no AI service. This page explains how the app and this website handle your data.
App data
We collect no personal data
Everything the app stores — square colours, diary text, countdown events and their cover photos, reminder settings, theme preferences — lives on your device and is never sent, uploaded or synced to our servers. We run no backend, no database and no cloud accounts.
Scope
The app may store the following on your device:
- Your daily mood colour on a five-level scale, with a timestamp
- The plain text of your diary entries, their dates and when they were created
- Countdowns you create: name, date, category, reminder settings and the cover photo you picked yourself
- Your preferences (colour theme, reminder time, language) and your purchase state, verified by the Apple or Google receipt
All of it stays on your device and never leaves your phone. A cover photo is the single image you chose; it is copied into the app's own space and stays there.
Permissions
The app asks for permission in only two situations: a local notification when you turn on the daily reminder, and your photo library when you pick a cover for a countdown.

External connections
No external connections at all. The app runs 100% locally — no analytics SDKs (no Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Meta SDK), no AI cloud APIs, no push services. Sentiment analysis is plain keyword match (16 positive / 16 negative words) running entirely on your device. Year recap text is assembled from on-device rules and templates, not AI-generated. Apple App Store / Google Play handle Pro one-time purchases; payment data never touches the app.
Data deletion
You can remove everything at any time: uninstall the app, or clear its data and cache in system settings. Squares, diary entries, countdowns and cover photos all go with it.
Website contact form
When you submit the contact form, we receive your name, email, subject, message, IP, and browser info — used only to reply. We do not use it for marketing or share it with third parties.
Website third-party services
This site uses Cloudflare for DNS, CDN, and security; transactional email via Postmark / Resend. These services only handle necessary request data — they don't touch in-app local data.
Your rights

Children's privacy
Neither the app nor this site is designed for children under 13; we do not knowingly collect children's data.
Policy changes
Material changes update the effective date on this page. Check back periodically.
